How to Set Up the Roofspace 2: Our Step-by-Step Guide
Updated: Nov 27
So, you’ve chosen the Roofspace 2 roof tent and are ready to embark on your first adventure? Perfect! We’ll walk you through the setup process step-by-step.
Before diving in, make sure your roof tent is securely mounted on your vehicle. We always mount our Roofspace 2 so it opens towards the passenger side – we just find it more convenient this way.
Roofspace 2 Roof Tent Setup Guide
First, find a suitable spot to park your vehicle. Ensure it's as level as possible. If the ground is uneven, use leveling blocks to even things out.
Make sure there's enough space above your vehicle to open the roof tent without any obstructions like branches.
We always set up our Roofspace 2 together and have gotten pretty quick at it – but don’t worry, it’s easily done solo in just a few minutes. The setup is really simple and straightforward, and once you’ve done it once, you probably won’t need instructions again!
Alright, let's get started!
1. Open and Unfold the Roof Tent
Begin by opening the hinges under the flap on the left side (passenger side) of your roof tent. Lift the lid and secure it with the strap and snap button on the side.
At the same time, you can unlock the two latches on the opposite side of the roof tent.
Now, move to the driver’s side of your roof tent and attach the provided rope to a corner of the tent using the snap button. Toss the rope over your vehicle’s hood to the other side, so you can easily pull the roof tent open.
Pulling open the roof tent is super easy and only takes a few seconds.
Now, your Roofspace 2 roof tent should already look quite cozy! Just pull the rubber loops and fabric over the frame at all four corners to ensure a snug fit.
2. Attach the Ladder and Open the Outer Windows
Next, attach the provided ladder using the two latches at the tent’s entrance. This might require a bit of finesse at first, but the mechanism is simple.
Once the ladder is securely attached, pull it down to the ground at a comfortable angle.
Now you can climb up to your roof tent and unzip the entrance. To make it even cozier, we attach the provided poles at the entrance and sides.
3. Enjoy the View
Your Roofspace 2 roof tent is now fully set up, and you can enjoy the beautiful view! Inside, you’ll find a comfortable mattress. Bring pillows and blankets from home or use your sleeping bag to enjoy your first exciting night in the tent!
